THE BERBLY PROJECT
Where to Start
DOORWAYS INTO THE WORK
Sometimes I’ll come back to my own writing, and even I have trouble figuring out where to begin. I might be looking for a particular memory or feeling. You know that itch you get when you’re in the mood for something specific, but you can’t quite put your finger on what it is?
It’s a little bit like that.
That’s the itch I’m trying to scratch when I aimlessly wander through my body of writing. After a while, I’ll usually find whatever it was I didn’t quite know I was looking for. Something that, “hits the spot”… so to speak.
This whole project has changed directions so many times that there’s a pretty wide assortment of topics and subjects to stumble into. Some are funny. Some are painful. Some are probably a little bit of both, depending on how you look at them. I think that’s what makes recommending a starting point a little complicated.
So, rather than try to decide that for you, I figured I’d give you a few different places to begin.

Somewhere between the memories we carry and the dreams we can’t explain, reality begins to blur.

An assortment of true stories, questionable decisions, improbable circumstances, and situations that really should have come with a warning label.

Unfinished Evolution: Miles & Growth
The most remarkable journeys, the ones between the starting line and life’s unexpected detours, are often the ones we never planned to take.

Memory’s Ghost: The Things That Stayed
Some moments disappear into the past. Others find a way to follow us home.

The Tangled Truth: Reading Between the Lines
What happens when everything you thought you understood begins to look different from another angle? Every story has more than one side, and sometimes the hardest part is questioning the version we’ve been telling ourselves.
